Greetings and blessings! You are now reading my first post in my new personal blog! How exciting!!! LOL
Let me introduce myself, my name is Diane but some people call me D –whatever rocks your socks. I am a 24-year-old college graduate who resides in Montgomery County, MD. I am a proud graduate from Frostburg State University. There, I received my B.A. in Mass Communications with a focus in PR (and I slight focus in marketing before I dropped that minor so I can get the…you can finish the rest of the sentence lol).
Although I graduated, I’m still a student in life and is always on a quest for knowledge. I’m always looking for ways to better myself so I can live a purposeful life, but more importantly, I want to be a blessing to others– mainly my family. I am a proud Ghanaian-American. I am appreciative of both cultures for the fact it gives me a unique identity–which my blog will surely express. However, I love my Ghanaian culture more than anything. My Ghanaian culture plays a huge role in my identity for it has shaped my values and beliefs.
A bubbly Gemini, who loves to laugh and smile. I love meeting and talking to random people–most of the times. I love my ME time more than anything! The power of self-reflection is real for it is a time–at least for me–to regroup, recollect and refocus my goals and thoughts. It is a time where I can escape the world and seek Godly wisdom from the most High.
After graduating and back to the Greater Washington D.C. area, I started experiencing what I call the post-graduate blues. In my head, I figured once I have a college degree life will be sweet. I had everything all figured out. Then shortly after receiving my degree, this complicated little bitch by the name of Life comes along and slaps me silly. Awakening me back to my new surroundings, it was soon brought to my attention that life is not always sweet. In order to get what you want out of life it entails a lot of hard work and drive. A special type of drive though. A drive that derives from your passion and strengths (I will save this for another blog post). Any who, being in my 20′s I believe this is the perfect time for exploration–exploring our passions, our strengths, our weaknesses– and becoming the person we always dreamed of.
I can go on and on about myself but I rather not. I want my blog speak for itself and show who I am as a person . So with no further adieu, sit back, relax, and enjoy my blog!
